YV Subba Reddy Wants Centre To Probe Corruption In Polavaram

YSR Congress Party MP YV Subba Reddy on Wednesday charged the Chandrababu Naidu with using Polavaram as a milch cow. He said the TDP was using the project to skim off kick-backs.

Talking to mediapersons at New Delhi on Wednesday, he said the moment Chandrababu Naidu assumed power in 2014. he had escalated the project cost from Rs 16000 crore to Rs 32000 crores. The project contractor too is a TDP MP, he pointed out and said that the party was using the project to make huge kickbacks.

Demanding that the project be made on a corruption-free basis, he reminded that even Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has pointed this out. He sought to know why Chandrababu rushed to Nagpur. He alleged that Chandrababu had gone to Nagpur to meet Gadkari to give new proposals for the same project. He alleged that Chandrababu Naidu was using the contractors and sub-contractors to make money for the party.

He demanded that the Centre give clarity on the actual cost of the Polavaram project. He reminded that there were still pending issues with regard to the resettlement and rehabilitation of the land oustees. He sought to know how the project would go ahead if these issues are not solved. He said he would soon lodge a complaint with the Centre about the corruption in the prestigious project.
