Monday, June 2, will be remembered, for years to come, as a historic day. United Andhra Pardesh as we know it would cease to exist, creating space for the emergence of two new states,  Andhra and India's 29 th state, Telangana.

June 2 will see not only the realisation of Telangana, it will also see the swearing in of its first ever chief minister, K Chandrasekhara Rao.

KCR will take oath as the first chief minister of Telangana on June 2  at 8.15 am with a 15-member cabinet.  (KCR's lucky number dominates his cabinet choices)

KCR who was at the forefront of the Telangana agitation  will celebrate state formation, also to take place on June 2,  at Gun Park. Before moving to Raj Bhavan, KCR, in remembrance of those who sacrificed their lives for Telanagana,  will lay a wreath at Martyrs Memorial.

After taking oath, he will enter state secretary to assume office around 12.50 pm, he is then  expected to hold first cabinet meeting.  He will also take part in the state formation celebrations at several places beginning at Parade grounds.

Governor ESL Narasimhan invited KCR to come to Rajabhavan on June 2. (Finally, KCR gets his camp office)

Chief Secretary on Thursday directed the officials to make all arrangements for the oath taking ceremony.

As the newly formed state, Telangana has also got itself a new logo, a mix of Charminar, three lions and Kakatiya Kala Thoranam, along with the Ashoka Emblem.

This logo will be sent to Governor ESL Narasimhan, and the latter will give his stamp of approval.  Later it will be sent to Secretariat. KCR wanted this logo on the first file he will sign after taking oath as CM. The file is expected to deal with payment of ex-gratia to martyrs of Telangana movement.
