Virat Kohli Overtakes Raina To Become Highest Run Scorer in IPL

Virat Kohli - Sakshi Post

Virat Kohli became the highest run scorer in IPL on Tuesday by scoring 4,619 runs and pushed CSK player Suresh Raina to the second position (4,558 runs). The feat was achieved in the match between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Unfortunately, Virat’s feat didn’t help RCB beat Mumbai Indians, as the former fell short of 46 runs. This is the first win for Mumbai in this edition of the cash-rich league. Kohli, who opened the innings with Quinton de Kock, remained unbeaten but could not guide his team to victory. Apart from Kohli, no other batsmen rose to the occasion and went back one after other. de Kock's 19-run knock was the second highest among the other batters.

Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma who scored 4,345 runs ranks third, followed by Gautam Gambhir (4,210) and David Warner (4,014).
