TRS unstoppable in Medak - Sakshi Post

Ruling TRS's winning streak continued as its nominee T K Prabhakar Reddy secured an unassailable leader in Medak Lok Sabha constituency when the votes were counted on Tuesday.

Reddy was leading by over 1.50 lakh votes over his Congress rival and former minister Sunita Laxma Reddy. The BJP candidate - Turpu Jayaprakash Reddy - stood a poor third and risks losing his security deposit.

The bypoll in Medak parliamentary seat was necessitated due to the resignation of TRS President K Chandrasekhar Rao after he became the Chief Minister.  TRS was expected to sail through quite easily as the opposition parties are in utter disarray. KCR campaigned in the constituency and his nephew and irrigation minister  Harish Rao, who represents Siddipet assembly segment, camped in the constituency and personally led the campaign.

Security has been made heightened for counting of votes in both the places.
