Hyderabad: While other children of his age, are into watching cartoons or playing online video games, this young boy is busy coding and learning new programming languages.

Meet P Sharath, a 12-year old school kid who works as a data scientist on a part time basis in a software company at Hyderabad and earns a salary of Rs 25,000.

Sharath's parents P Rajkumar and Priya who originally hail from Tenali in Guntur district, are both software engineers working for Cap Gemini. They reside in Manikonda close to the IT Hub in the city and Sharath is studying seventh grade in Sri Chaitanya school nearby.

Speaking to Sakshi , his parents said that his interest in coding and other software programming developed at a very young age.

As busy software engineers they would bring their laptops home and work. A keen observer, Sharath started watching what they were doing and noticing his interest, they started showing him their work. He started learning coding at a very young age of seven and mastered Jawa coding and other related programming languages with his parent's encouragement.

Understanding that he was as good as a software developer like themselves, they took him to various IT firms for interviews. He was recently selected as a Data Scientist by Montaigne Software Company in Madhapur who recognised his talent and offered to pay him an honorarium of Rs 25,000. The organisation also agreed for him to continue his studies and also work in their office on part-time basis (three days each) ,much to the joy of his parents.

Sharath and his parents met the Telangana Minister for Education Sabitha Indra Reddy on Tuesday. She congratulated them and heaped praises on the child prodigy for this accomplishment at such a young age.
