Hyderabad: KT Rama Rao said that the Telangana government would be declaring 2020 as the year of Artificial Intelligence (AI), to promote its use in various sectors including Agriculture and Healthcare.
Telangana Minister for IT and Industries KT Rama Rao this decision of Telangana government in a meeting with Nasscom President Debjani Ghosh at Pragathi Bhavan on Friday, October 25. Principal Secretary Jayesh Ranjan, Director - Emerging Technologies Rama Devi, and Director Digital Media Dileep Konatham attended this meeting.
He said the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government will host a series of events throughout the year, to promote the AI theme.
IT and Industries Minister added that the Telangana government is focussing to attract investors from marquee companies which are setting up their R&D and technology development centers in the latest and emerging technologies such as IoT, AI, machine learning, cybersecurity, and blockchain.
KTR said that the Telangana state government is very happy to collaborate with Nasscom in bridging the skill gap in these emerging tech sectors.
Followed by that even, Debjani Ghosh said that Nasscom would be delighted to collaborate with the Telangana government in launching AI applications in various sectors.
Ghosh further added that the IT sector is preparing a list of new job roles getting created in the emerging technology space and would also be very much interested in making a partnership with the Telangana government.
