Telugu Film Producer Bandla Ganesh was detained by the police in connection with a case that was registered against him at the Jubilee Hills police station, in Hyderabad.

Potluri Vara Prasad, financer cum producer who also is a YSRCP Leader had filed the complaint against him and his associates at the start of this month for allegedly threatening him.

K Srinivasa Rao, ACP, Banjara Hills said Ganesh was not arrested but was “called to the police station in connection with a case.”

Police from YSR Kadapa district had reached out to the police to see that a non-bailable warrant was issued against him as he was not showing up in court for a case there.

The Main point for the complaint to be lodged involves a Rs 30 crore transaction that took place between Ganesh and Prasad, with regards to the Telugu movie 'Temper'. Prasad says that on October 4 three miscreants had barged into his house and had threatened him of dire consequences if the dispute was not settled as soon as possible.

Following the complaint, the Jubilee Hills police booked a case against Ganesh under IPC Section 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property), 448 (punishment for house trespass), 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) and 109 (punishment for abetment).

Since the time of the complaint the police have been trying to track Ganesh but finally got hold of him on Wednesday, October 23, and brought him to the police station.
