Hyderabad: TSRTC employees’ strike which entered 18th day on Tuesday (October 22), has been escalating, and all party leaders have staged 'Vanta Vaarpu', a form of protest by cooking food on the streets and eating community lunch, in support of the RTC strike.
The RTC JAC along with several party leaders started Vanta Vaarpu at the Jubilee Bus Station (JBS) in Secunderabad.
On the other hand, commuters are facing problems due to the shortage of buses.
As part of the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) strike, RTC employees reached the Karimnagar bus station early in the morning and held a dharna before the bus depot at 5 am and started protesting. A bus mirror was broken when an unidentified man threw stones at the RTC rental bus in the parking lot.
RTC employees even requested the temporary drivers and conductors not to start the buses and to support their strike and prevented the buses from getting out in the early morning.
Police made attempts to disperse the protesting employees near the bus stop and has also taken some of the JAC leaders into custody. RTC employees have intensified protests all over Telangana.
