Hyderabad: A 21-year-old man was killed when his bike hit an RTC bus while crossing the junction located opposite to Rajiv Gandhi International Airport gate on Monday.

The deceased have been identified as N. Varun Kumar and was a resident of Telangana Housing Board Colony at Raviryal. Kumar was working as an intern at Novotel Hotel in GMR area.

Pahadi Shareef police visited the spot and his body was later shifted to Osmania Hospital for autopsy.

Meanwhile, residents of Telangana Housing Board Colony anguished by the accident said that although the area is accident-prone, no steps were taken by authorities to curb them.

Members of Residents Welfare Society have complained that they have written to the authorities concerned to put up traffic barriers at the airport junction, but their demands fell on deaf ears.

They also complained that the road to the RGI Airport eastern gate is always dark and that leads to fatal accidents in the night.
