Hyderabad: In yet another case of negligence, a five-year-old drowned in a pool of a posh residential colony in Hyderabad. The incident took place at Manjeera Diamond Towers in Nallagandla on June 4. The parents of the victim, identified as Vashisht approached the media claiming police inaction.

As per the details provided by the parents, the boy was playing near the gated community's pool on June 4 and fell into the water and drowned. While he was rushed to a nearby hospital, the boy succumbed to death on June 6.

The parents approached the police and filed a complaint stating there were no security guards or lifeguards present at the time of the mishap near the swimming pool. The police registered a case of negligence causing death against the security, management, maintenance and welfare association of the community. According to the CCTV footage, Vashisht is witnessed playing with an object in his hand. He repeatedly tossed the object into the water and kept picking it up while standing at the edge of the pool. On one instance, he slipped and fell into the water as he was trying to retrieve the object. Some passersby rushed to the pool hearing his cries for help and pulled him out.

The parents are lashing out at the Chandanagar police for not taking any action in regard to the case, even after 10 days after the incident. When quizzed by the media on Saturday, the police stated that they are working on collecting the evidence.
