Negligent Driving Costs Lives Of Four Engineering Students

Hyderabad: A road accident took place in the city outskirts on Tuesday night killing four B.Tech students, including two female students.

The victims were identified as Sai Chaitanya Reddy from Meerpet, Praneetha from Chaderghat, Spoorthy of Kothapet and Vineeth Reddy of Champapet. All of them were pursuing their BTech final year from Sri Indu Engineering College in Ibrahimpatnam.

As per the details, the incident occurred when the students were returning in a car from a farewell party at a farmhouse in Bommalaramaram mandal. As the person driving the car, Maneesh Reddy of Kuntloor was negotiating a steep curve in Mysireddy village of the mandal, the car overturned killing three of them on the spot. Vineeth Reddy was shifted to a local hospital but succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment.

The police stated that the accident occurred due to negligent driving and are verifying whether the student was under the influence of alcohol.

Maneesh was critically injured in the accident and is undergoing treatment. The police registered a case under Sections 304-a and 337 of the IPC.
