Within a day of the results announced more than 10 cases of students committing suicide were reported across the state. Andhra Rajya Sabha MP CM Ramesh's nephew was among the 10 students who committed suicide. Meanwhile TSBIE secretary A Ashok, has stated that there were no lapses or goof-ups by the Board and termed any such allegations as false and baseless rumours.
