Hyderabad: Professor Venugopal Roa Soma, faculty in the Advance Centre for Research in High Energy Materials (ACRHEM), University of Hyderabad (UoH) has been awarded the fellowship of the Institute of Physics, UK. His candidature has been peer reviewed by a panel of assessors who have acknowledged and endorsed his achievements.
This fellowship confirms Professor Soma as a leading physics professional and receives recognition among his peers for excelling in his field. It will also give an opportunity to him to connect and share ideas with other fellows, build new partnerships and enhance his professional skills through innovation and collaboration.
Professor Soma, as an IOP Ambassador, can use his experience and enthusiasm to encourage others to study, work and excel in physics.
Dr. Venugopal came to ACRHEM in 2007 from IIT-Guwahati, where he had joined the Physics department after a postdoc in Scotland. His doctoral work was at the UoH, on Incoherent Laser Spectroscopy for the measurement of ultra-fast relaxation times and third order nonlinearities in a variety of organic molecules.
