Following this, her husband reportedly demanded the voters to return the money the couple distributed before elections. According to the media reports, the TRS candidate Uppu Hymavathi contested in the 9th ward and lost.

The TRS candidate's husband Prabhakar, who is learnt to have distributed Rs 500-700 was among the voters, later went back to the voters demanding the money to be returned.

Prabhakar demanded the villagers return the money as they didn't vote for the candidate despite taking a favour from her. However, reports suggest that the villagers refused and eventually drove him away.
