Telangana To Include 30 Nomadic Groups In BC List

Telangana CM K Chandrashekar Rao - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao said that the government will examine the possibility of including 30 nomadic groups in the BC list. The Chief Minister’s assurance came when he released a book ‘BC Communities, Nomadic Tribes’ written by Telangana State BC Commission member Juluru Gouri Shankar here at the Pragati Bhavan today. KCR's assurance followed Shankar bringing the problems of the nomadic classes to the attention at the event.

KCR said that these nomads have remained unrecognized since Independence. He instructed Chief Secretary SK Joshi and TRS Rajya Sabha member K Keshava Rao to study the issue of their inclusion into the BC list. Once the CS examines the issue, the Telangana State BC Commission will study all aspects related to the present status of the nomadic classes, he mentioned to the gathering.

The book highlights the steps taken by the TRS government in the state including the several development programmes for BCs and the role of the BC Commission.
