Karimnagar: Telangana Health Minister Etela Rajender has stirred up another controversy on Thursday with his statement about he got the Minister's post.

Speaking at a Party meeting at Huzurabad in Etela said that his Minister's post was not a ‘bhiksha’ (alm) given by anyone to him and he got Minister post based on his seniority, efficiency and loyalty to Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) party and the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao.

A visibly emotional Etela reacted sharply to the rumours that was floating in social media about his ministry post. He claimed that he was one among the first to hold the TRS flag as he was with TRS since its inception. Unlike other some other leaders in TRS, who joined from other parties in the middle.

Etela also responded to the reports in the media that KCR was upset with him for leaking confidential information to revenue staff and that the CM was mulling the thought of dropping him from the Cabinet.

Condemning media reports on alleged ‘leaks’ of CM’s meeting, Etela said, “I have no need to give explanation on these cheap reports. Everyone knows who is what. Everyone knows what is Etela Rajender.”

“Minister post given to me is not a biksha by anyone. It came in recognition of my seniority, efficiency, and loyalty to TRS and KCR. I never sought Minister post in BC quota,” Etela said. He rubbished reports that he got minister post under BC quota as he hails from Mudiraj community.

Etala also explained that even before he joined the Telangana movement he was an industrialist, which everyone knew. I never fell for the pressure that came during the movement, it was because of my participation, and hard work in the movement I was elected as MLA for six times, the Health Minister quipped. He said that people first should first stop postings these baseless news about me on television channels and social media and listen clearly to what I have said now, he concluded.
