Hyderabad: Initially given two months time, now Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has directed officials to complete work of shifting of departments from the secretariat buildings in 15-30 days in consultation with the cabinet sub-committee.

The shifting involves files, furniture, computers and staff, from the Secretariat. KCR in his meeting with officials on Saturday and Sunday asked cabinet sub-committee officials to not delay the exercise.

According to a leading daily, twenty-nine departments with over 2,000 employees and officers are moving out of the existing building.

“The plan is to shift and accommodate all secretariat departments in three to four buildings. CM KCR does not want each department located in a different building at a different location. Now, the respective departments and GAD officials have zeroed in on over a dozen buildings. A final call will be taken by the cabinet sub-committee along with officials of the GAD,” an official was quoted saying to a leading daily.
