TPCC leader Vijayashanthi , Sangareddy MLA T Jagga Reddy - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: Taking a dig at actor-turned politician and Congress leader Vijayashanti, Sangareddy MLA Jaya Prakash Reddy said the former was nurturing hopes of becoming the next PCC president in Telangana.

The remarks were made by Reddy on Wednesday following the exchange of words between Congress leaders in the past few days. Reddy earlier said that TDP, YSRCP, and TRS would not mind supporting the Congress at the Centre if the party was able to form the government. To this, Vijayashanti said Reddy should refrain from making such comments as it suggested that Congress was in secret pact with the three parties. Jagga Reddy’s comments on Wednesday against Vijayashanti were made in this context.

Continuing with his jibe, Reddy said she had mass following in the State as an actress and the party would benefit if it offered her the role of PCC president. However, he advised her to work selflessly for the party without any expectations.

He also commented that if one wanted to become the PCC chief they would have to first spend from their own pockets and only then there would be proper coordination in the party.

He praised the services of the Uttam Kumar Reddy and said that it was true that the PCC Chief was in debts after the elections. Jagga Reddy said that he had worked for the party's growth without any interest in the Chief Minister's post.

Jagga Reddy also said that those defecting the party was not because of Uttam's failure and that they had moved for their own selfish motives. He said that nobody could ‘buy’ AICC leader Kunthia or Uttam Kumar. He said he would soon reveal the names of the coverts in the party acting against the interests of Congress party.
