Hyderabad: State Election has sprung to action after the release of the notification. The panchayat elections are around the corner and the EC has called for a meeting of all the elections examiners on Friday. As the notification is out election code is in place across the state. The EC has clearly stated that if the Assembly has to meet, then the EC’s prior permission is required. As the code is in place no cabinet expansion should take place in the state.

TRS party came to power with a huge majority but as auspicious times are unavailable, cabinet expansion has been halted. As the code is in place till the panchayat elections get over, cabinet expansion will be on hold. Adding to it no IAS, IPS and other officials can be transferred around this time.

The EC has also put a period to Bathukamma saree distribution and Rythu Bandhu cheques distribution. Sessions of the district, mandal, municipal bodies can be held but no policy decisions should be taken. Other orders include only Rs 50,000 to be carried by any individual. EC has ordered to set up check-posts in the district borders and stop money distribution to the voters. A separate cell to receive complaints is also being launched by the EC.
