Treated KCR Like Father: Kukatpally TRS In-Charge Gottimukkala Resigns

Gottimukkala Padma Rao - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: With the TRS party in full swing with election campaigns and public rallies, the party received a sudden jolt when the TRS party Kukkatpally constituency in -charge, Gottimukkala Padma Rao resigned from the party midway. In what can be seen as a dissent against the TRS party leadership for sidelining him and not giving him a ticket, Padma Rao sent in his resignation letter to the TRS party chief K Chandrasekhar Rao.

"I had thought of the TRS party as my home and KCR akin to a father and worked hard for so many years for the cause of the party. Despite being treated with injustice I bore the pain with patience, in the hope that there would be a change in the thinking of the leadership. But there has been no change and the party is slowly drifting from its core principles and in this context I am resigning from my role as the -in-charge of the Kukkatpally constituency and the party itself," he wrote. The TRS Kukkatpally ticket was given to Madhavaram Krishna Rao, whose brother Madhavaram Kantha Rao is fighting in the same constituency under the BJP ticket. Krishna Rao had won the seat on a TDP ticket the last time around, but joined the TRS later. He enjoys considerable clout in the constituency is seen as the favourite as far as winning the seat goes, while his brother, the BJP candidate, is nowhere in the reckoning. The TDP candidate, NTR's grand-daughter and Hari Krishna's daughter has been parachuted into Kukatpally by Chandrababu Naidu in the hope of wresting the seat and making a point, as it were. However, it will come as a major election surprise should she make any headway here.

Political analysts say that this move by Gottimukkala who is considered to be a close confidante of the Part Chief KCR could be seen as a major blow to the Party and with KCR rubbing many of his old hands on the wrong side, could have a negative effect on the morale of the party cadre especially with the elections just a few days away.
