No One Can Change Name Of Hyderabad In 100 Years, Says Dy.CM Mahmood Ali

Telangana Caretaker Deputy CM  Mohd. Mahmood Ali - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: Mohammad Mahmood Ali, the caretaker deputy Chief Minister of Telangana has been campaigning furiously for the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) party. A staunch follower of K Chandrasekhar Rao, he has been instrumental in bringing in a sizable number of votes of the Muslim community for the TRS party.

When asked by a national daily in an interview on a BJP leader's statement about changing the name of Hyderabad if voted to power, he categorically dismissed these statements.

Mahmood Ali said that the Congress leaders have understood that they would lose the coming elections and are making impossible promises in meetings about changing the names of Hyderabad and Secunderabad just to catch the eye of the public. He said that the twin cities were the pride of Telangana and there was no question of changing their names and nobody could do it even in a hundred years, he stated emphatically.

About the question whether the minorities would vote for the TRS again considering the secret affiliation between the BJP and the TRS ,he said that the Chief Minister had built a good and respectful relationship with the Central government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the development of the state only. He clarified that it was not a party -to-party-relationship, but the Telangana government’s relationship with the Centre. Just because they respected the Prime Minister's chair didn't mean that they were in alliance with the party. He dismissed the rumour and said that the TRS will never join the BJP nor the NDA in the future either.
