Hyderabad: The Congress party is considering taking disciplinary action against MLC Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy and senior leader V Hanumantha Rao for their comments against the party's leadership. After the two leaders publicly expressed their dissatisfaction over the party's selection of candidates for the recently announced Election Committee, the party's disciplinary committee convened a meeting to discuss the issue at Gandhi Bhavan here today.

Speaking at a party workers meeting, Rajagopal Reddy lashed out at AICC Secretary and Telangana affairs In-charge RC Khuntia saying that he had offered committee membership to brokers and ignored the leaders who had been working for the party's welfare.

In the recently announced committees, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy has been appointed as the Co-chairman of the Manifesto Committee as the Chairman of Publicity Committee, while Rajagopal Reddy has been included in the election committee. Komatireddy Venkat Reddy was hoping for the responsibility of heading the Election Committee. "Where did he come from? I am not scared of Khuntia. I had phoned him and asked why he had included brokers in the committees. A hundred Khuntias can not stop me from contesting in the polls," an angry Rajagopal Reddy said in the meeting.

Under the leadership of chairman Kodanda Reddy, the disciplinary committee is planning to send a proposal to AICC recommending issuance of notices to Rajagopal Reddy and V Hanumantha Rao.

Speaking to media on the issue, party Khuntia said that the committees would take appropriate measures against the two leaders. We will take action as per the party's rules, he added.
