The ruling TRS feels that it could stand to gain tremendously in Telangana if elections were to be advanced ahead of the Lok Sabha elections to be held next year.

It is with this objective in mind that it is sounding the clarion call for early polls.

About 25 lakh people are expected to attend today’s mammoth public rally, Pragati Nivedana Sabha at Kongarakalan village in Ibrahimpatnam. The underlying ain behind what is being described as the biggest public rally in the country‘s history, is to showcase the strength of the TRS as a political entity. It is expected that an important decision on early elections will be announced at the rally this evening.

There are several states where elections are to be held well ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, including BJP ruled states such as Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Mizoram. Telangana wants to go in for early elections along with these states.

The ruling TRS has already started preparations to this effect and the popular mood seems to be in its favour, a fact it wants to cash in upon. The KCR-led ruling party wants to reap the benefits of early assembly elections in the Lok Sabha polls next year. By establishing its footprint in the national political space, TRS will try to exploit the emerging situation to the hilt. It will stand to gain in the web of alliances formed while constituting a new government at the Centre.
