Telangana Congress To Discuss Election Strategy In High-level Meeting

Hyderabad: The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) is expected to discuss the current political situation in the State, later in the day, at a high-level meeting under the leadership of AICC Secretary for Telangana Affairs RC Khuntia at Gandhi Bhavan here today. Amid talk of early elections and Telangana Rashtra Samithi's (TRS) upcoming 'Pragathi Nivedana Sabha,' the Congress leaders will join the meeting to deliberate on poll strategies.

TPCC President Uttam Kumar Reddy, Congress Legislative Party leader Jana Reddy, Leader of Opposition in Telangana Legislative Council Shabbir Ali, two AICC Secretaries who oversee the party's State affairs, AICC Secretaries who represent the State, former ministers, former PCC Chiefs, MLAs, MLCs, DCC Presidents, TPCC General Secretaries and other important leaders will attend the meeting. In the wake of speculation over the possibility of early elections and Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao's (KCR) Delhi tour, the Opposition party would discuss and chalk out its action plan in the lead-up to the upcoming elections.

Also, with the ruling party gearing up to convene a huge public meeting in Hyderabad on September 2, this meeting gains prominence. According to sources at the Gandhi Bhavan, Congress leaders will discuss the party's preparation for the elections if the government decides to dissolve the Assembly next month. Organizing a bus yatra, list of contestants, party's internal coordination, party workers' registration in the Shakti App and the election strategy will be key topics.. It is learnt that after hearing from the leaders, the party leadership will send a report on the proceedings to its national leadership.

Earlier in the day, the Congress bus tour committee members Shabbir Ali, Damodar Reddy and others finalised the tour's schedule. On the other side, Congress Telangana In-charge RC Khuntia met AICC Secretaries to discuss the latest political developments in the State.
