Nizamabad: The Nizamabad district Congress leaders indirectly targeted Rajya Sabha MP D Srinivas and said that importance should be given to leaders who stood by the party through thick and thin. District Congress party met here on Monday for a detailed discussion about the party status on a constituency-wise basis.
AICC general secretary and party district in charge Srinivasan held a closed door meeting wherein he reviewed the scene with booth level leaders, as also constituency leaders. While reviewing the Nizamabad urban constituency, it is learnt that the local leaders raised the topic of DS. With the news of DS' re-entry into Congress doing the rounds, there is unease among leaders who had worked with the party for a long time.
Keeping DS in mind, the Nizamabad urban constituency leaders are believed to have told the Congress party district in charge that importance should not be given to those who had left the party and rejoined. Srinivasan responded by saying that this was party's top leadership decision and he had no say in the matter.
