New Delhi: The infighting within Telangana Congress seems to have become all too evident. It is clear that Congress leaders of the state are working against TPCC chief Uttam Kumar Reddy and want him ousted from the post at the earliest. Towards this end, the leaders are leaving no stone unturned in New Delhi. As part of this effort, Komatireddi Venkat Reddy and DK Aruna met AICC chief Rahul Gandhi to complain against Uttam.
According to sources, in the meeting between Telangana Congress leader and Rahul Gandhi they informed Rahul Gandhi that Uttam did not consult senior leaders in the party took decisions as per his whims and fancies. With such an attitude, Congress would not win more than 15 seats in 2019 elections, Komatireddi said. Former minister DK Aruna had said that if it was any other leader than Uttam, she would work for the party and help in its victory in the state.
Surprisingly the senior Congress leaders alleged that through My Home Rameshwara Rao, Uttam was having secret meetings with chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao. After listening to them patiently, it is learnt that Rahul Gandhi assured them of convening another meeting to discuss the issue. The senior leaders are of the belief that AICC chief would soon appoint a new in-charge for TPCC.
Denying that they had raised complaints against the TPCC chief, in a press conference Bhatti Vikramarka, Komatireddi and DK Aruna clarified that they met Rahul to greet him on his birthday and requested the media not to read more into this interaction. They promised Rahul that in 2019 there would be a Congress government in Telangana and that they were all working towards it. They clarified that there were no infighting in TPCC and that Uttam had not joined them since he had met Rahul only couple of days ago.
