Hyderabad: Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Jio which has always pleased its customers with low tariff rates is all set to give a big shock to its users, Jio on Wednesday, October 9 announced that it will charge 6 paise per minute for making voice calls to other rival networks. Even Jio announced that it will compensate customers by giving free data of equal value.

Added to that, Jio also made it clear that all the existing Jio users have to buy an IUC top-up voucher from October 10, to continue uninterrupted services to other networks.

All the Prepaid and postpaid Jio users have to buy this IUC top-up voucher and Jio gave an exception that they will not charge money for Jio to Jio users, and WhatsApp calls, along with calling services through any of the messenger platforms.

All the Incoming calls will continue to be free for now. Jio Management made it clear that they had paid a huge sum of 13,500 crores for their rivals over the past three years and it will recover the sum through this plan. They have taken this decision out of regulatory uncertainty.
