TDP will lose in Andhra Pradesh: BJP - Sakshi Post

New Delhi: BJP spokesperson GVL Narasimha Rao has condemned the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) for pulling out of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). He has criticized CM Chandrababu Naidu of attacking the central government because of fear of loss, as the elections are approaching.

Speaking to media persons here today, the party spokesperson accused the TDP of resorting to "lies to cover up its inept and inert governance". The TDP's decision to quit, he said, was inevitable after its "mischievous propaganda" against the Centre.

"The Chief Minister has visited Delhi 29 times, but he has not been successful to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi on a single occasion. The BJP will expose his corruption and incompetence in the state. Our party is capable of defeating the TDP, which could not come to power single-handedly on the last occasion. The TDP is trying to spread false propaganda to cover up their misrule, which has led the state into deep corruption over the past four years," he said.

Earlier today, the TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu announced in Amaravati that the party was exiting the NDA. The government expressed confidence that it has the numbers to ride out the crisis with BJP terming the decision by Andhra Pradesh's ruling party to quit the NDA "inevitable". Two TDP ministers had resigned from the Narendra Modi government following the Centre's refusal to grant Special Category Status SCS to Andhra Pradesh.

Reacting to the exit from NDA, TDP floor leader in the Lok Sabha Thota Narasimham said, "We go according to the principles. Our leader felt being part of NDA and moving a no-confidence motion would not be ethical. So we withdrew from the NDA and I have issued a letter on no-confidence motion to the speaker at 9.30 am."
