TDP Government Failed Miserably In Helping Weavers: YS Jagan

YS Jagan Mohan Reddy - Sakshi Post

Kalichedu (Nellore): The YSRCP government will establish a handloom corporation and provide relief to weavers in distress, Leader of Opposition YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Addressing a public meeting on the 75th day of the Praja Sankalpa Yatra, on Tuesday, he said the yatra has showcased the plight of the handloom weavers who are not provided any financial aid by the state government. "The TDP government has not provided any subsidy to the weavers and there is no compensation package when 34 handloom workers committed suicide," YS Jagan said.

Chief minister Chandrababu Naidu only makes promises which he never fulfills, whether it is for the backward classes, farmers or weavers, the YSRCP leader said. "For instance there was no loan waiver for handloom weavers nor were interest-free loans provided to them. Similarly, the TDP promised a loom and a house to every family and yet, after four years those promises remain mere talk and were never implemented," the YSRCP chief said. He reiterated his commitment, on the occasion, for the establishment of a corporation for the welfare of weavers.
