Suravaram lauds Jagan efforts to keep State united - Sakshi Post

CPI general secretary Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy on Saturday commended the efforts of YSR Congress party chief Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy to keep Andhra Pradesh united.

Speaking to the press persons after the meeting of YSR CP delegation led by Jagan in New Delhi, Suravaram agreed on the similarities between the two parties, though they differ on the issue of the State bifurcation.
“CPI has been for separating Telangana. But, we do agree with YSR CP’s contention on the way the State is going to be divided by Congress party. The opinions of the stakeholders are not taken into consideration,” he said.
Further bringing parallels between YSR CP and CPI, CPI leader said that their party would also fight against the injustice that Seemandhra people were meted with. He also found fault with the way the Centre has been handling the issue.
“Jagan is fighting against the State division, but we demand to carry forward the process in a cordial environment.  The aspirations of the Seemandhra people were ignored with the unilateral decision of the Congress and the UPA government on the State bifurcation. We already wrote a letter, clearing our stance,” he said.
According to him, he also shared the apprehensions of Jagan on misuse of Article 3 in dividing the State.
“He (Jagan) expressed his concerns on possible abuse of Article 3 in altering the boundaries of states in India. We also ready to think on the measures to prevent the misuse of Article 3,” he said.
