Sridhar Babu leads Brahmin team to CM seeking ban on film - Sakshi Post

A delegation of Brahmin leaders under the stewardship of Minister for Civil Supplies D Sridhar Babu today appealed to Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy to take urgent steps to ban the film “A Woman In Brahmanism”.

Stating that the film had strong objectionable content that seriously hurts the sentiments of not only women from the community but the fairer sex as a whole, the Brahmin leaders wanted that the director and the producer of the flick be brought to book immediately so that such cases will not recur.

Cutting across party lines, former MLC and senior Congress leader Gidugu Rudraraju, TDP official spokesman Sudhish Rambhotla, BJP spokesman N V S S Prabhaker and other leaders from the community submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister. They also requested Kiran Kumar Reddy to take measures to remove the clippings of the movie that were posted on the Youtube.

Bringing it to the Chief Minister’s notice that a case has already been booked against the film producer and the director in some parts of the State, they wanted action to be initiated against the duo without much delay in order to uphold the dignity and decorum of the women as a whole and the Brahmin community in particular.

Earlier, MLA from Visakhapatnam Dronamraju Satyanarayana also wrote to the Chief Minister seeking immediate ban on the film. In his letter he mentioned the large-scale demonstrations and protests across the State for the past few days strongly condemning the indecent scenes portraying women in poor light in the film.

The leaders also threatened that Brahmins, comprising five per cent of the State population, would boycott the Congress if urgent steps are not taken to not only ban the film but also to initiate stringent action against the film makers.
