A badminton revolution is on in India and its popularity has gained considerable momentum in India over the last few years. Before Saina Nehwal started beating the top players and then came in her friend PV Sindhu who went on to better Nehwal's performance. She bagged the gold medal in the BWF World Championships on August 25 making the Nation proud for her achievement. We can surely say that both Saina and Sindhu are responsible for why badminton is growing at a rapid pace. They have became role models of millions and ratcheted up the sales of badminton equipment in the country.
Of course, there were others before them, Prakash Padukone, Syed Modi, and Pullela Gopichand, etc. However, during their period badminton was an onlya seasonal sport. But after their era and as per PV Sindhu's coach Gopichand, India will soon become a "badminton superpower" in 2020.

With the sport becoming more popular thanks to PV Sindhu’s incredible win, Flipkart has witnessed a spike in sports has recently launched a quality product range of Badminton equipment.

According to certain statistics, interest in the badminton category's traffic on Flipkart marketplace grew by around 20% within the first month of launch, which is really high.

As per Flipkart analytics the topmost cities in placing orders for badminton equipment include Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Delhi, Chennai, Pune, Patna, Lucknow, Jaipur, etc.

Adrenex , Flipkart’s in-house sports and fitness private label brand aimed at sports and fitness aspirants. Within a one month of its launch, Adrenex has secured the third highest visited brand across.

Despite Badminton being a seasonal sport, the category witnessed a growth of over 1.5X in the first half of 2019, with the interest in the badminton category also growing 1.5X over that period. Demand from the Top 5 cities has grown by over 2X in the first six months of the year as well.

So far this year the demand from metro cities was close to 60% in comparison to Tier 2 and 3 markets which was around 30%.

All the above reports clearly show that badminton is the current trending boom sport across the country.
