After the auction of players for IPL 2019, all the eight franchises in the Indian Premier League (IPL) have released the list of players who have been retained or let go. This list makes it clear the return of Steve Smith and David Warner, both the banned Australian players. They have been retained by Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad, respectively. Among the international stars, Jason Roy, JP Duminy, Brendon McCullum, Chris Woakes and Aaron Finch were also let go of by their franchises, as the deadline to retain these players came to an end.

The fate of popular players from the Indian cricket team like Yuvraj Singh and Gautam Gambhir was uncertain as they were let go by their franchises.
