Sharmila to walk with black badge - Sakshi Post

“It will also be a protest march. Late YSR’s daughter Sharmila during her 6-month-long Padayatra will walk wearing a black badge as a protest against the failures of the State Government to live up to the people’s expectations,” YSR Congress senior leader and Tirupathi MLA Bhumana Karunakara Reddy said in Hyderabad today.

“Throughout her padayatra, Sharmila will wear a black badge to highlight the failures of the ruling party to fulfill the aspirations of the people and the main Opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) for not performing its bounden duty,” Karunakara Reddy told mediapersons at the party office. “It is going to be a low profile exercise without any hype. Sharmila will undertake her 3000-km-long padayatra for six months,” he explained.

After witnessing the enormous public response to YSR Congress president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, the TDP started feeling timid and thus it has connived with the Congress, the MLA said. “Though the TDP has got many opportunities to move a no-confidence motion in the Assembly against the ruling Congress, it has deliberately avoided the move only after entering into an understanding with the Congress,” he remarked. The TDP has remained as the major Opposition party only for name sake, he stated. Unable to take on the mighty YSR Congress, the TDP has joined hands with the Congress and has now become a pain the neck of the people of the State, Karunakara Reddy observed.

During her padayatra, Sharmila will thoroughly expose the unwritten pact between the TDP and the Congress and highlight the failures of the ruling as well as the main Opposition parties, he added. The main aim of the padayatra is to ushering in the golden era of YSR, he explained and stated that all sections of people across the length and breadth of the State are eagerly waiting for Sharmila to reach them.
