Rajinikanth’s Kabali leaked online, team rubbishes rumours

The movie is already available in several links in Dark Web. - Sakshi Post

With just a few days to go for the release of Rajinikanth’s much-awaited ‘Kabali’, piracy organizations have reportedly leaked the movie online. The movie is already available in several links in Dark Web.

However, the makers of the movie rubbished the news. “These are just baseless rumours circulated for fun. There’s no truth in reports that ‘Kabali’ has leaked online. Producer Kalaipuli S. Thanu plans to officially address the matter via a statement,” a source from the film’s unit said. Rajinikanth’s fans were shocked to find reports which claimed that nearly 30 minutes of the film were leaked online.

Directed by Pa. Ranjith, the film also stars Radhika Apte, Dhansikaa, Dinesh, Kalaiarasan and Ritwika and Winston Chao among others.
In “Kabali”, Rajinikanth plays a don who fights for equal pay rights for Tamils in Malaysia.

Recently, the producer of the film, in his writ petition, sought a direction to Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) to issue instructions to all service providers to block websites offering illegal download of the film.

The petitioner enclosed the screenshot of a site which claimed that visitors could access 30 films at the rate of 12,000 downloads. The counsel said they had arranged a live demo of another website to the court to show that an entire feature film could be downloaded for as little as Rs 10. From that single copy several thousand copies could be made and sold in the black market, he added.

While the pirates make Rs 20 to 30 a copy, a huge loss is incurred by the producers, artists and others involved in the making of a multi-crore film, he contended.

Earlier, Salman’s film Sultan, Udta Punjab and Great Grand Masti were also leaked online before their respective release.
