BJP chief Nalin Kumar Kateel has accused former chief minister Siddaramaiah of being the reason behind ED arresting former minister and senior Congress leader D K Shivakumar.

Addressing a press meet on Sunday at Bagalkot in Karnataka, he alleged that Siddaramaiah was trying to seek revenge on Shivakumar as he was emerging as a strong political leader. He reminded that Siddaramaiah was the Chief Minister and Congress was in power when the Income Tax Department officials raided D K Shivakumar in 2017. He also questioned him as why he didn't prevent such raids during his ruling.

Nalin Kumar further said that BJP was not doing vendetta politics in Siddaramaiah's arrest, he was arrested on corruption charges and the Central government has nothing to do with this.

Kateel praised chief minister BS Yediyurappa’s effort to solve the problems of flood-affected people by touring all over the state and monitoring rescue works, the government has temporarily distributed Ten thousand rupees to each flood-affected victim. He further said that the BJP government had announced Rs 5 lakh while the last government gave Rs. 92,000 for house construction.
