Temples Unsafe Under Chandrababu: Vijayasai Reddy

V Vijayasai Reddy - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: General Secretary of YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) and Rajya Sabha member, V Vijayasai Reddy lamented that temples had become unsafe under the Chandrababu Naidu regime. He questioned as to why Chandrababu remained silent on the TTD gold seizure.

Addressing the media at the party headquarters here on Wednesday, the senior YSRCP leader pointed out that it was under Chandrababu that the chief priest of TTD, Ramana Deekshitulu and three other temple priests were removed. Finance minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu’s close relative Putta Sudhakar Yadav was appointed TTD chairman by Chandrababu, he added.

It is clear that the Chandrababu Naidu government took all these steps in order to indulge in indiscriminate loot and plunder of temple resources, the senior YSRCP leader added. He queried as to why the gold being brought to the TTD as stated by the EO, was being transported by an inner road and not by the main highway. Two crowns belonging to the deities in Govindarajaswamy temple went missing and the authorities are now implicating petty thieves in the case. They are thus trying to fool the people, he said. The authorities are claiming that these petty thieves or pickpockets had melted the gold crowns. The cops are fully aware as to whose house has to be searched to find the crowns belonging to the temple deities, Vijayasai Reddy said.

Chandrababu Naidu was responsible for the demolition of 40 temples in Vijayawada, the senior YSRCP leader remarked. Though the TDP supremo had promised to get them rebuilt, nothing was done in this matter. Even churches and mosques were not spared by the Chandrababu Naidu government, Vijayasai Reddy stated, adding that the TDP chief was not afraid of touching god’s wealth or property. Vijayasai Reddy demanded that the findings of the committee appointed by chief secretary LV Subramanyam be made public.
