Srikakulam Intellectuals, Students Slam Vemuri Radhakrishna

The Poets and Writers Forum of north Andhra expressed their dissent with regard to Vemuri Radhakrishna Managing director of Andhrajyothi making critical comments about the dialect of Srikakulam. At a meeting of the forum, a member,Sannasetti Rajshekar hit out at Vemuri Radhakrishna for his meaningless criticism.

The roundtable conference was held here at the Krantibhavan on Thursday under the leadership of Attada Appala Naidu. “Vemuri’s comment that people from the district can not speak Hindi ”, is not relevant, he said.

The forum further said that the stature of a person is not a matter of concern if he ridicules the land of Sikkolu. The forum has decided to write an open letter in this regard. This land is known for its rich heritage, members of the forum said. It is now being criticized by the rulers, heads of news dailies who are run by the corporate powers. We are going to raise such questions in the North Andhra social movement.

Prior to the roundtable, a protest was held in Ramalakshman centre with participation by student unions, social associations, communists and journalists, in addition to eminent local citizens. In the round table conference YSRCP member Duvvada Babu, APUWJ state ex president Nallli Dharma Rao, social associations leaders Tanadra Prakash, Jayadev, Sanapala Narshimlu, Venkateshwara Rao, K.Sresnivas, Diwakar, Tanka Chalapati, Gurugubelli Bavaji Rao, Gonti Giridhar Rao, Miska Krishnayya took part.
