Hyderabad: Congress senior leader and former minister Mukesh Goud has announced his future decision amid widespread speculation on his move to the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samith (TRS). Following former Hyderabad PCC chief Danam Nagender's move to the TRS party last month, reports of several other Congress leaders including Mukesh Goud's possible exit surfaced.
In this backdrop, Mukesh Goud cleared the air in a meeting organised on the ocassion of his birthday today. The meeting, organised at the party camp office in Jambagh, was attended by several party leaders and acquaintances.
Addressing the meeting after holding discussions with party workers here, the Congress leader clarified. "I will not leave the Congress party. The party is home to many leaders from the Backward classes," he said. After a series of constituency-wise meetings with the party members, an action plan would be charted out, he remarked.
However, he chose not to comment on Danam Nagender's claims on lack of recognition for leaders from the BC community. The father-son duo of Mukesh Goud and Vikram Goud have stayed away from party meetings at Gandhi Bhawan since a long time now, it is learnt.
In the meeting, former Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha, senior Congress leader and former MP V Hanumanth Rao among others participated.
