Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) expressed confidence of winning more than 100 Assembly seats in the upcoming elections. People of the state are witness to developmental activities being carried out by the government, he said. In democratic countries, good governments have always been encouraged in the elections, KCR remarked while addressing a meeting organised at the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) party office, Telangana Bhavan, on the ocassion of Congress senior leader and former minister Danam Nagender joining into the party. Speaking on the ocassion, KCR made some interesting comments on the possibility of early elections.
The Telangana government has taken up a range of welfare schemes, which none of the state governments did, he noted. The state government's unmatched functioning is turning out to be a matter of amusement for national leaders, he commented. But the opposion parties in the state are unable to withstand the scale of development, and are indulging in all sorts of activities to hinder the irrigation project works, he said.
Since this is an election year, the opposition parties are resorting to making all kinds of baseless allegations against the government, KCR criticized. I am throwing a challenge to all the parties with respect to their readiness to fight early elections, he said. Members of our party are raring to go, he added.
I have a feeling that there will be early elections this time, he predicted. We have full support of the people of the state and we are ready to go to polls anytime, KCR added.
