YSR Congress Party will highlight various people’s issues, including the Call Money-cum-sex racket in the AP assembly sessions, beginning tomorrow.
"We will take up the Call Money cum sex scandal, in which TDP leaders are involved" said Party Deputy Floor leader Jyothula Nehru. He said the Government had come down due to pressure from the Opposition and cancelled the leave of Vijayawada Police Commissioner Gowtham Sawang, who was probing the case.
The YSRCP leaders gave details of the YSRCP Legislature Party meeting, which was held at the Lotus Pond office on Wednesday. The meeting was chaired by party chief and the Leader of the Opposition YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. The YSRCP slammed the Government for announcing the duration of the Assembly session. This is a bad precedent and it is the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) which should decide the duration of the session, Nehru said.
"Besides the Call Money cum sex racket, we will also raise the Government policy on bauxite mining which goes against the tribal interests and harms the ecology of the region. This apart, the issue of anganwadi and asha workers who have very just demands and the plight of contract workers and the issues of drought and floods will be taken up on priority basis. We will also demand the payment of MSP and purchase of discoloured paddy and failure to control the prices of essential commodities,"said Jyothula Nehru.
On the Call Money racket, the party demanded that there should be no interference with Gowtham Sawang's work. The women who are coming forward to lodge complaints should be given protection.
Party leaders Pillii Subhashchandra Bose and MLA Uppuleti Kalpana were also present.
