Protests greeted Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu on Saturday when he came to Vijayawada to attend a meeting of women entrepreneurs.

CPM workers, led by Ch Baburao and Donepudi Kashinath, staged a protest in front of the hotel where the conclave was on. They accused Venkaiah Naidu of failing to get special status to the state of Andhra Pradesh. They reminded that as an Opposition, the BJP wanted special status for AP for ten years, but now it is reneging on its promise. They said the BJp government was a government of words, not deeds.

They said Venkaiah Naidu was changing his statements everyday and argued that he did not have a right to seek votes.
