Goa's CM Manohar Parrikar did it. Now Devendra Fadnavis, the new Maharashtra CM, too is doing it.

On Sunday afternoon, the passengers in Mumbai airport were pleasantly surprised to find a VIP and his family waiting in the queue and traveling like them. Devendra Fadnavis, his wife and daughter were traveling back to his home town Nagpur after the swearing in.
Sources close to Fadnavis said he paid for his tickets.
This measure of austerity comes close on the heels of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's diktat that that the ministers and bureaucrats should shun ostentation and cut down unneccessary expenditure.
Fadnavis, honed in the austere tradition of RSS, prefers to travel economy class with his family.
