Penumaka Farmers Shock Chandrababu Government

Villager making an announcement boycotting the CRDA meet - Sakshi Post

Farmers from Penumaka village gave a big shock to Andhra Pradesh government by boycotting the meeting conducted by the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA).

CRDA officials organised the meeting with farmers in the village to address the issues raised by the farmers on land acquisition. The government wants to take the lands in the village for the capital city.

Ahead of the meeting, farmers announced that they are boycotting the meeting and also threatened to launch a stir if they were harassed. The villagers also announced that they will not attend any of the meeting conduct by the CRDA officials hereafter.

They said government is forcefully acquiring their lands and has also registered cases against those who dared to question the government decision. Though they have raised several issues in the earlier meetings, the officials did not solve any problem. This shows the government's lack of commitment and concern for the farmers. Hence, there was no point in attending the meeting, they said.
