Telangana Reports Highest Single-Day Spike With 199 New Cases

HYDERABAD: Telangana has recorded 199 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday taking the total number of cases in the state to 2,698. This is recorded to be the highest cases recorded in a single day since lockdown.

While, five persons died, taking the COVID-19 death tally to 82. Of the total cases reported today, 196 are local COVID-19 cases and three are migrants.

As per the state's health bulletin, 1,428 patients have recovered from the dreaded virus and discharged from hospitals so far. The total number of active COVID-19 patients are 1,118 in the state.

According to a daily COVID-19 update bulletin from the government, GHMC alone recorded 122 cases while neighboring district Rangareddy reported 40 cases. Ten cases are from Medchal and nine from Khammam. One each case from Nirmal, Yadadri, Janagaon, and Suryapet. Warangal urban has reported two cases while three each cases were registered from Mahabubnagar, Jagitial, and Medak.
