Hyderabad: IT Raids At TRS Minister Malla Reddy and Kin's Properties, Including Educational Institutions 

IT Raids on Telangana Minister Malla Reddy and Family Members Houses - Sakshi Post

HYDERABAD: In a shocker for Telangana Minister of labour and employment Ch Malla Reddy on early Tuesday morning, Income Tax investigation officials from Delhi and Hyderabad conducted searches on his properties and of his family members in connection with the suspected tax evasion and having assets beyond known sources of income. This is the second time that  IT raids are being conducted on a Telangana minister, after the Enforcement Directorate and Income Tax sleuths raided the house and offices of Minister for Backward Classes Welfare, Food and Civil Supplies-Gangula Kamalakar two weeks ago. 

The IT teams launched simultaneous searches at the premises of the TRS Minister, his son Mahender Reddy, son-in-law Marri Rajasekhar Reddy, Malla Reddy's brother, and other family members in and around Hyderabad and Medchal Malkajgiri districts.

About 50 teams from the IT department commenced searches which were also done at their residence at Palm Meadows villas at Kompally. The Minister was present during the searches which began early  on Tuesday morning at 5:45 am

The officials are also searching the residences and offices of Malla Reddy's elder son Mahendra Reddy and son-in-law Rajasehkar Reddy who are also looking into the affairs of the educational institutions and real estate business.

Malla Reddy's wife Ch Kalapana Reddy is the vice-president of CMR Educational Society, Malla Reddy Educational Society, Chandramma Educational Society, St Martin's Educational Society. She is the president of C Malla Reddy Educational Society and MGR Educational Society in which both the son and son-in-law are part. The IT sleuths seized her phone and are conducting searches in his house. IT officials are checking income records of the institutions run by Malla Reddy Group following allegations of tax evasion.

The searches are likely to continue throughout Tuesday.

The IT raids come at a time when the Special Investigation Team (SIT) has intensified its investigation into MLAs’ poaching case which allegedly involved leaders of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from Hyderabad and at the Centre.

After the poachgate incident, the ED and IT sleuths on November 9 conducted raids on the residence of Minister Gangula Kamalakar in Karimnagar. Joint raids were also carried out at the properties of Kamalakar’s relatives across 20 locations in Hyderabad and Karimnagar over alleged tax evasion and FEMA violation in relation to fraud and money laundering related to the granite firms owned by the Minister.
