Meet The Highest Paid Player of IPL 2022

KL Rahul has made history by signing a deal worth Rs 17 crore with the Lucknow-based IPL franchise. KL Rahul, Lucknow's first-choice option, is now the joint-highest paid player in a season, along with Virat Kohli.

With a price of Rs 17 crore, he is the highest-paid player ahead of the IPL 2022 auction. For Rs 16 crore apiece, Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja, and Rishabh Pant were retained by their respective franchises. From 2018 to 2021, Kohli earned Rs 17 crore per year and was retained by Royal Challengers Bangalore for Rs 15 crore.

Rahul, who earns Rs 11 crore every season from 2018 to 2021, has received a Rs 6 crore raise. While Rahul has been one of the top openers in the IPL since 2018, he struggled as PBKS' skipper as the club failed to go past the league stage.

Rahul will be joined in Lucknow by all-rounder Marcus Stoinis and uncapped spinner Ravi Bishnoi. Stoinis, who played for the Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2021, will be paid Rs 9.2 crore.

Bishnoi, who played for PBKS under Rahul's leadership, would be paid Rs 4 crore. He had signed an Rs. 2 crore contract with PBKS. Lucknow will enter the IPL 2022 mega-event with a budget of Rs 58 crore.
