Look What All Emma Raducanu Did After Winning US Open

 - Sakshi Post

Emma Raducanu's life has been changed since she won the U.S. Open as an 18-year-old qualifier, and she's still trying to process what happened nearly a week later.

She's appeared on American talk shows, attended the Met Gala, visited the New York Stock Exchange, and chatted with Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton, which is a big deal for a big motorsports fan.

Top soccer coach Jurgen Klopp, who manages Premier League team Liverpool, has referred to her as the "talent of the century."

Raducanu, who spoke on the phone with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, said she slept almost the entire day after returning home to England and needed to unwind after a grueling two months.

After a three-week US Open run, a week of qualifying, and then a main-draw run in which she did not drop a set. With her efforts, she became the first player to win a Grand Slam as a qualifier and the youngest major winner since 2004.

When can the world expect to see Raducanu on a tennis court again? She doesn't know for sure; her 127-spot jump to No. 23 in the rankings means she'll have to rethink her schedule, but she's planning to compete in the Indian Wells tournament from Oct. 6 to 17.

"Sometimes I just have random bursts where I think, 'Oh my God, I just won the US Open,' and then I go about my business as if nothing has happened, "said Emma.

The message she wishes to convey is: Dream big and work hard, regardless of your background.

"Even if it's not tennis, even if it's other dreams like being a doctor or anything like that, dream big and anything is possible," she says.
