How To Register For Free Vaccination In India

 - Sakshi Post

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that the centre will provide free vaccine to all the people above 18 years of age from June 21st. India is expected to record highest daily vaccination on June 21st.

From today, pre-registration on Cowin.gov.in is not mandatory as all government and private vaccination centres would provide onsite registration facility. No pre-registration or slot booking is required for the vaccine anymore. If you go directly to the nearest government hospital, you will be registered with the Aadhaar card and vaccinated.

About 75% of the vaccines produced in our country are procured by the central government. Centre will issue free vaccine doses  to states/UTs based on criteria such as population, disease burden and the progress of vaccination. Under the previous policy, the central government procured 50 percent of vaccines for distribution for free vaccination of those above 45 years and frontline workers. The state governments and other private hospitals had to buy the vaccines from the manufacturers.

The centre has also capped the prices for the administration of three approved COVID-19 vaccines in private hospitals. The price of covishield in private hospital is Rs 780, Rs 1,410 for Covaxin and Rs 1,145 for Sputnik V.

In Telangana and Andhra Pradesh already people are taking vaccination through spot registration. A mega vaccination drive took place on Sunday in Andhra Pradesh.
