Tech Issues In The New E-Filing Portal

  • Due to problems with the new income tax portal, which made it impossible for thousands of taxpayers to finish their ITR filing procedure, the deadline has been extended.
  • From the moment it was introduced, the tax department's newly established income tax filing online was plagued by technical difficulties. Many taxpayers were having trouble filling their taxes using the site.
  • Various parties expressed their dissatisfaction with the filing procedure at various stages. Some taxpayers have even claimed that they were charged interest and a late fee if they filed their ITR after July 31, 2021. (the deadline was extended to September 30, 2021).
  • In addition, the deadline for filing belated and/or amended ITRs has been extended by two months, from January 31, 2022, to March 31, 2022.
